The FIFA World Cup is only played once every four years, and it is arguably the most eagerly anticipated event in all of sports.
The 48-team field, the largest in the competition’s history, will be divided into 12 groups of four during a draw held in Washington, D.C.
The quarter-final clash at St James’ Park kicks off at 8.15pm, so is expected to conclude around 10.15pm. The draw is scheduled for 10.35pm. If the scores are level at the end of 90 minutes, the game will go straight to a penalty shootout. The draw would then likely be delayed.
Live television overage of the draw, at Washington, D.C.’s John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, is scheduled to start at 11:30 a.m. ET on FOX and streamed on Fubo. It's the first time the draw will be broadcast live in the United States.
